📍Chile, South America.

Welcome to the Chile section of my travel blog! Here, you’ll discover insider tips and practical guides for independent budget travel throughout the country. Chile has something for every kind of traveler, from the arid Atacama Desert in the north to the stunning glaciers and fjords of Patagonia in the south.

What can you expect from my blog?

I offer personally tested practical guides to help plan your trip. I also cover must-try foods, including the most bizarre dishes in the country. As someone fascinated by indigenous people and unique cultures, I love to explore these topics. Additionally, here you will find comprehensive information on trails as hiking is my favourite activity of all.

In 2017 and 2018, I embarked on a backpacking adventure to South America. It lasted two incredible years. Some of my favorite destinations in Chile include Punta de Choros, where I saw penguins and whales, and Cerro Castillo, where I hiked alone for the first time in my life. I was also fortunate to see the mysterious moai heads of Easter Island. I spent in Chile six month in total. During my travels, I hitchhiked all along Carretera Austral, explored the arid deserts of Atacama, and experienced the cold wilderness of Patagonia. During my stay in Punta Arenas and Cochrane, I volunteered in the tourism business. I also spent several months in Santiago de Chile. It quickly became my second favorite city in South America after Buenos Aires.

In 2023, I returned to Chile to explore the Chiloe island and the lake region. I was thrilled to discover that the people in Chile were still extremely welcoming and hospitable, always eager to lend a hand. I’m already planning my next trip back!
